I.Overview
This equipment is for mechanical engineering department or mechanics engineering department in university, it’s for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Engineering Mechanics, Solid Mechanics major and other mechanics related department.
This equipment allows measurement of strain hence bending moment along the length of the vertical and horizontal members of a rectangular portal frame. It is to be used with Universal Structural Frame (separately supplied).
Strain gauges are fixed at equal distance along the frame members, 8 on the horizontal member and 4 on each vertical member. Both vertical legs of the frame can be clamped to Universal Structural Frame. Loads can be applied on the horizontal and/or vertical members and/or removable moment arm of the frame. Strains on the frame can be measured by the strain indicator. Bending moment at each strain gauge can be calculated from the strain and compared with the theoretical value.
Instruction manual is also included.
